Job Description:
Our PMO currently operates in a shared services model providing
support staff, systems oversight, implementation, reporting, and
governance for 2 of our 8 corporate operating units. The Director
PMO Corporate Technology is responsible for developing and ensuring
a high level of overall PMO maturity. This includes identifying
gaps, creating resource plans, presenting and justifying requests,
and driving initiatives to advance our overall PMO maturity. This
resource will help drive our strategy through prioritization of
cyber security initiatives as well as development of future org
models to help maximize our ability to attract and retain top
talent. This resource will report to the Sr. Director of Strategy
and Planning and will present plans and roadmaps to our CISO and IT
leadership teams.In addition, this resource will ensure we are
staffed with top tier talent in support of PMO activities. This
includes oversight of a team of up to 19 resources. The Director
PMO will be responsible for creating job descriptions, performing
interviews, hiring, onboarding, termination, coaching, mentoring,
conflict resolution, and problem solving. This applies to both
staff and contractors. The Director PMO will maintain vendor
relationships with all staff augmentation vendors used within the
PMO ensuring we have access to top tier talent at all times in the
markets where we talent is needed.This resource will own the PMO
suite of tools and oversee the administrators of the PPM system.
This includes application lifecycle management for the PPM tool and
any other tools or reports required.This resource will be
responsible annually for building plans and roadmaps to introduce
or upgrade capabilities within the PMO.The Director PMO will be
responsible for maintaining a persistent web publishing platform,
on SharePoint and with assistance from a communications team. This
resource will be responsible for all content published to our PMO
SharePoint page. This includes links, news, instructional content,
and all policies, procedures, or portfolio-level artifacts required
to support consistency and successful outcomes for our PMO.This
position will ensure consistency in the data within our portfolio
as well as timeliness of health and status reporting by maintaining
an audit process and holding project managers accountable for
timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of updates.This position is
required to establish a collaborative framework that partners
closely with key stakeholders to drive security and compliance
solutions across Carnival Corporation. Additionally, this position
has overall accountability for the global portfolio management and
budgeting of capital initiatives across GCS.Essential
Functions:
- PMO Management- Responsible for all aspects of our PMO
including 80M-100M in annual projects, -19 resources, customers
from 2 different Carn Corp OUs and Stakeholders from all 8 Carn
Corp OUs.
- PMO Transformation - Create, review, present, and execute
transformational initiatives within the PMO.
- Portfolio Management - Responsible for accuracy and
completeness of portfolio data from idea through to transition to
run. Responsible for maintaining materials used to train staff
responsible for upkeep of portfolio data. Maintains audit
procedures required to validate accuracy and completeness.
Maintains a catalog of training and job aids related to portfolio
management systems and tools. Ensures consistent treatment of
projects and adherence to our PMLC across different pillars to
consistent outcomes and ensure high quality project delivery.
- Financial Management - Participates in annual financial
planning process. Assists by collecting and aggregating
idea/submissions which form the basis for our annual capital
planning process. Supports the backlog of ideas and maintains
accurate and complete financial records as they make their way
through our project management lifecycle and become projects.
Provides CapEx support to GCS leaders for Capital Allocation
Requests (CARs) submissions and expense tracking and project
chargebacks.
- Communication and Transparency - As needed, leads large,
complex, risky and/or political programs. Ensures success through
excellent project management, teamwork and collaboration,
prioritization and creative problem solving, risk mitigation,
resource planning, and communication. Conducts executive project
reviews with IT Executives and Business Leaders.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Project Management is
required. An advanced degree is highly desirable, particularly an
MBA.
- Minimum of 10 years in a portfolio manager or PMO lead
capacity. Experience leading global cross-functional teams a plus.
Background in the Cybersecurity, IT, or Cruise Industry will be
considered a big plus.
- Formal training in project management is required. Candidate
must have earned at least one of the following: PMP, Six Sigma or
Scrum Master certifications. Technical or cybersecurity
certifications are a plus.
- Solid understanding of PMO and IT Operations.
- Expert level presentation skills. Experience with Waterfall and
Agile methodologies.
- Experience with Creating and Implementing Department Processes
and Procedures.
- Prior experience with Organizational Change Management as it
relates to supporting technology projects and processes.
- Experience with portfolio financial planning and
accounting.
- Experience with the RFP process, vendor contracts and vendor
management.
- Experience managing a large geographically dispersed team of
global resources.
- Experience operating as a shared service entity is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communications in U.S.
English.
- Global perspective -- accustomed to doing business around the
world and comfortable working with professionals with diverse
cultural backgrounds.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently,
including remotely or on ships.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- IT leader with strategic and operational expertise.
- Must possess strong interpersonal, facilitation and consensus
building skills.

- Strong experience in technology planning, project planning,
team leadership, as well as establishing and managing service
measures to ensure organizational effectiveness.
- Strong background and experience in IT technologies and
managing implementations.
- Experience supporting the whole lifecycle of applications
development and implementation as well as operations support.
- Experience developing budgets, managing expenses and creating
accurate forecasts.
- Ability to create PowerPoint presentations that are informative
and engaging and deliver them to various audiences including
executive management.
- Experience leading a team of project managers and a large
portfolio of projects.
- Ability to review vendors' statements of work for completeness
and relevance.
- Ability to manage vendors in the execution of their statement
of work and holding them accountable, anticipating/escalating if
gaps or issues.Physical Demands: Must be able to remain in a
stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods
of time.Travel: No travel.Work Conditions: Work in a
climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard
potential.This position is classified as "in-office." As an
in-office role, it requires employees to work from a designated
Carnival office in South Florida Tuesday through Thursday each
week. Employees may work from their homes on Mondays and Fridays.
Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the
