RSM US LLP is looking for a SALT Senior Manager to join our
expanding Asset Management practice.
Our AM practice serves a range of clients in the financial services
industry including private equity funds, hedge funds, fund of
funds, capital market clients and real estate clients.
This particular role offers the opportunity to join a
high-performing, high-growth team while working with complex
clients in the Asset Management industry with a focus on private
equity funds, hedge funds and FoF clients.As a SALT Tax Manager for
RSM, you will be responsible for the following job duties, which
are focused around three core concepts:
Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and
Client Service/Business Development.
Responsibilities
:
Provide detailed review and analysis of complex Private Equity,
Hedge Fund and/or FoF partnership state tax returns
Serve as a Career Advisor by providing mentorship or coaching to
one or more employees, which will include providing honest and
timely performance feedback
Train and develop staff members
Work on multiple complex issues while communicating in a
non-technical manner to facilitate communication between the client
and the service team while managing the risk for both the client
and the firm
Serve as the state tax client service coordinator for appropriate
clients
Advise clients on a full spectrum of state tax services, including
planning, research, compliance, and general mergers and
acquisitions activities
Reviewing research findings and ensure conclusions are consistent
with firm policies and professional standards
Assist with new business development, extended service and tax
issue recognition for existing clients
Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and
state tax compliance
Remain up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax
law
Other duties as assigned
Some travel may be required (varies based on location and client
need)
Basic Qualifications
:
8-10 years of experience in business taxation working for a Big 4
or a large national, regional or local accounting firm
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
Active CPA, Enrolled Agent or Licensed JD
Prior state and local tax compliance & consulting experience
serving Asset Management clients
Ability to work closely with clients to answer questions or to
collect necessary information for tax service requirements
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
:
Working knowledge of state tax code and technical aspects of tax
preparation and compliance
Strong technical skills in accounting and tax preparation, industry
specialization a plus
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

At RSM, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended
to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their
current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and
associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in
the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, education,
skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such,
pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the
stated range.
Compensation Range:
$97,200 - $183,700
Individuals
selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus
based on firm and individual performance.
